Timothy M. Brown

TMB Law is staffed by Timothy M Brown, a registered Patent Attorney with over 19 years of patent and trademark experience.  He is licensed to practice law in California, and is registered as a Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).  Prior to establishing TMB Law, Timothy served as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO where he examined patent applications directed to medical diagnostics and hepatitis C and other flaviviruses.

Following his tenure as a Patent Examiner, Timothy served several years as in-house Patent Counsel for a number of San Diego biotech companies.  In his in-house roles, he provided advice on intellectual property and licensing strategies, and prosecuted extensive patent and trademark portfolios in support of cell biology and stem cell therapy business strategies.  He also provided opinions on intellectual property clearance and conducted due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

Timothy has successfully prepared and prosecuted patent and trademark applications across a broad range of technologies, including medical and mechanical devices, consumer products, cell biology, stem cell therapy, medical diagnostics, and nutritional products.
